Hi, I’m Phil Kellow, the photographer and storyteller behind Cars-Cocktail-Culture, based in Brisbane, Australia.

My passion lies in capturing the people, machines, and style that make vintage culture so enduring. From beautifully restored classic cars and hot rods, to pin-up models, kustom kulture events, and retro lifestyles, I’m drawn to the stories behind the images just as much as the images themselves.

I’ve always believed that a photograph should do more than document a moment - it should evoke a feeling. My work is heavily influenced by the magazine photography and advertising imagery of the mid-century modern era, blending modern techniques with a timeless aesthetic.

Through Cars-Cocktails-Culture, I aim to celebrate the personalities who keep vintage culture alive. Whether it’s a proud owner standing beside a lifelong dream car, a pin-up expressing her individuality, or an enthusiast sharing their journey, every shoot is an opportunity to tell a story worth preserving.

Event Storytelling

Great events are about more than what happened—they’re about how they felt. My event storytelling photography captures the atmosphere, energy and human connections that make every gathering memorable. Rather than relying solely on posed images, I focus on authentic moments, candid interactions and the small details that often tell the biggest stories. Classic Cars

Classic cars deserve to be photographed with the same care and craftsmanship that went into building them. My automotive photography combines an appreciation for vintage design with a keen eye for detail, capturing the character that makes each vehicle unique. Whether you’re looking to showcase a prized restoration, document a collection or create magazine-style imagery for publication and social media, I produce photographs that celebrate the artistry, history and passion behind every classic automobile.

Your Questions, Answered

How far in advance should I book a session?

To ensure you receive a highly personalised and exclusive experience, I intentionally accept only a limited number of photography sessions each year. This allows me to invest the time and creative energy needed to plan, style and deliver images that are tailored to you—not a cookie-cutter package or production-line shoot. I recommend getting in touch four to six weeks before your preferred date to secure a place in my calendar and allow time for collaborative planning. That said, occasionally, last-minute bookings can be accommodated, subject to availability.

Do you offer customizable packages?

Absolutely. Each project begins with a chat where we’ll discuss your objectives, preferred style, and logistical needs. From there, we craft a project that fits your vision.

When and how will I receive my images?

Final, retouched images are delivered via a secure online gallery within two to three weeks of your session or event. I can also offer print options if required.

What are your rates?

Each session is individually tailored and includes collaborative planning, professional photography, and a curated collection of finished images. Signature Portrait Sessions begin at $395. Contact me to discuss your investment for a personalised quote.
